5 Things to Repurpose for Your Nonprofit’s Social Media Account
Social media works best when you’re consistent. Regular posting helps increase your visibility, keeps your followers engaged, and builds a community that’s ready to take action when it matters.
But that doesn’t mean you need to churn out brand-new content every week. The good news? You likely already have a lot of great content at your fingertips. Repurposing what you’ve already created is one of the easiest ways to stay consistent on social media with a lean team and without burning out.
Here are five types of content you can (and should!) be repurposing for your nonprofit’s social media:
1. Impact Reports & Grant Report Data
That impact section in your annual report? The stats you pulled together for a funder last month? These are great content opportunities. Take those key numbers and turn them into bite-sized social media posts - a simple graphic paired with a caption that adds the context. These kinds of posts are a great way to show your audience that your work is making a difference.
2. Blog Posts
You spent time writing and polishing that blog—don’t let it be a one-and-done. Pull out key takeaways, quotes, or even interesting stats and turn them into individual posts. You can also reshare older blog content when it ties into something timely, like a news story or relevant awareness day.
3. Testimonials
Quotes from program participants, volunteers, partners, or funders are incredibly powerful. But too often, they stay buried in reports or tucked away on your website. With permission, bring them to life on social media with a compelling graphic. And if you’re quoting a partner organization, tag them to help expand your reach.
4. Presentations & One-Pagers
If you’ve put together a slide deck, one-pager, or fact sheet for an external audience, chances are there’s content in there that’s ready to be shared more widely. Whether it’s a great stat, a clear explanation of your work, or a helpful framework—turn it into a post.
5. Speeches
Whether it’s a keynote, a toast at your annual gala, or a few remarks at a team retreat, speeches are full of thoughtful language and quotable lines. If it was recorded, consider sharing a short clip. If not, pull out a memorable line and pair it with a photo or simple background to share as a quote post.
You don’t need to start from scratch every time you want to post. By repurposing what you already have, you’re not just saving time, you’re reinforcing your messaging and getting more value from the content you’ve already worked hard to create.
